Track Your Rise with Ease. The clearly marked measurement scale printed on the side of the jar allows you to precisely track how much your starter has grown since its last feeding—the most reliable sign of its health and activity.
A Lid Designed for Fermentation. Our stainless steel lid is designed to rest securely on top, isolating your starter from airborne contaminants while still allowing the natural gases produced during fermentation to release safely. A Baker's Guide to Your New Jar
Getting Started: For your first use, we recommend giving the jar a gentle wash. Remember not to fill the jar more than halfway with flour to give your starter plenty of room to expand and grow.
Using Your Thermometer: For best results, apply the thermometer strip to the jar before filling. Please note, the adhesive is strong, so choose your spot carefully! The colors will indicate the temperature: green for the current temperature, blue if it's a little cool, and brown if it's a little warm.
